Leaders are the key to business success. Their task is to set goals, to develop strategies to reach them and to motivate employees on the way to their achievement. And all of this not only in good times, but especially in crisis situations.
But how can a company ensure that someone is the right person for a particular leadership position?
As experts in management diagnostics and management development, we at Sourisseaux Partners have developed a model that makes it possible to reach consistent and reliable conclusions in answering the question whether someone is really suitable for a leadership position. The model is based on 30 years of experience from more than 10,000 interviews with leaders and scientific findings from business psychology.
According to our model, anyone who wants to take on a top management role must have seven key competencies. And anyone who aims to develop into a top leader needs to have the potential to acquire or build up these competencies. There are six indicators for this potential.
1. The model is able to reliably predict the suitability of a person for a leadership position
2. The model is easy to understand with its sharp focus on the key criteria
3. The model creates a common understanding of what constitutes leadership
4. The model makes it possible to describe the impression about a person in words
5. The model allows the systematic assessment of individual development potential
6. The model allows to assess the top managers of a company and to derive an overall evaluation of the leadership team
7. The model can be linked to already existing competence models
